Perfect for Cambridge College private dining the Portrait Room is one of the College’s oldest and most charming spaces, featuring a distinguished collection of portraits celebrating individuals with strong connections to the College.

This part of the College is around 500 years old and overlooks First Court, with its unique circular lawn and the Great Hall.

The Dining Experience

Nestled in First Court near the main college entrance, this elegant and intimate room accommodates up to 20 guests for private family lunches, formal dinners, or special celebrations.

The Portrait Room is also ideal for standing buffet-style receptions of up to 30 guests, offering a traditional yet sophisticated setting with beautiful views across First Court and the circular grass lawn. It is also close to the College Buttery, which is ideal for pre-dinner drinks.

Combining historic character with refined surroundings, it provides a memorable venue for both private and corporate occasions in the heart of Cambridge.
