The Conference Experience
The theatre seats 119 delegates in a traditional lecture-style layout, with capacity for up to 130 using additional freestanding seating. This flexibility makes it well suited for both academic and corporate events of varying scale.
Equipped with modern audiovisual technology and an efficient air-cooling system, the space ensures a comfortable and professional experience for both speakers and audiences. It is a popular choice for organisations seeking a high-quality Cambridge venue for conferences and large meetings.
History
Originally designed in the early 1960s by the renowned architect Sir Denys Lasdun, the building was formerly known as the Lasdun Building. It was comprehensively refurbished in 2009 through the generosity of The Yusuf and Farida Hamied Foundation.
Yusuf Hamied, an Honorary Fellow of Christ’s College, has been instrumental in transforming College space for Fellows, students and guests.
